Experiential Learning

Experiential learning, or learning by doing, can range from role-playing in a classroom setting to gaining skills on the job.

My specialty is creating curated learning experiences that involve lateral thinking and out-of-context learning for groups of 10-30 people.

Art and Music

How might visiting an art museum tie to leadership brand, emotional intelligence, and increased self-awareness?

How might an urban scavenger hunt reveal the darker side of personalities?

How might writing a song as a team uncover hidden strengths and talents (not all musical)?

How might an art project bolster communication skills?

These experiences are tailored to geography and organization-specific needs.

Volunteerism

Leaders in corporate roles often become stuck behind a desk all day, enmeshed in what "good leadership" looks like from one organization's perspective.

Volunteering experiential learning allows leaders to give back (with their hands, in addition to their brains) and learn from leaders in other industries - park district leaders, equine therapy directors, or food bank GMs, for example.

These experiences are bespoke and designed specifically by geographic location and organizational need.

Head of Talent Development

Michelle led the charge in building the most impactful leadership development program that our Fortune 200 company has seen. Her nontraditional approach of centering learning around experiences outside of the classroom helped leaders to work together with peers to build capabilities and, ultimately, arm them with the skills they need to "level up" their leadership. We have seen countless leaders promoted to executive positions following participation in Michelle's program.

Research has shown that adult learning is both accelerated and sustained by experiences and emotional connection.
